Bass Coast Health (BCH)is helping local men to be as healthy as possible this Men’s Health Week and all year-round.
BCH provides a range of services to help men to maintain optimal physical and mental health, said BCH’s Interim CEO Simone Alexander.
“As your local sub-regional health service, we are committed to supporting the health of men in our community and provide first-class clinicians who help men to live fulfilling, healthy lives,” she said.
BCH has a variety of Allied Health services, such as Physiotherapy and Dietetics, to help with the management of injuries and chronic conditions, recovery from surgery and healthy eating.
BCH offers a comprehensive Cardiology service, including consultations with visiting Cardiologists, Stress Echo testing and Transthoracic echocardiograms to examine heart function.
Our Rapid Atrial Fibrillation Clinic helps in the management of this cardiac condition that increases one’s heartbeat, resulting in blood pooling and subsequent clots, which cause stroke.
BCH is serviced by an extensive list of visiting specialists able to help men with a variety of conditions, such as Urology and Orthopaedics, bringing more comprehensive care to local people, close to their homes.
BCH’s Clinical Nurse Consultants are skilled in areas of health that commonly impact men, such as diabetes, continence and chronic disease management, and work closely with patients to develop management plans that enhance their quality of life.
BCH’s Counsellors can help to improve mental health by listening intently and developing strategies to improve wellbeing.
The Social Support Group provides another opportunity for men to interact with others to build relationships and their mental health.
Volunteering with BCH is another way men can improve their mental health and wellbeing by serving the community, helping others and meeting new people.
