Rain couldn’t hold back the community from turning out to support another successful fete held by the Bass Coast Health Ladies Auxiliary on Saturday 8 November.
The entertaining social event raised funds for BCH, and featured baked and knitted goods, jams, craft, soap, Devonshire teas, a sausage sizzle, a car boot sale and more.
The fete was held in and around Stirton Room at Wonthaggi Hospital, and many people contributed to the event, said BCH Ladies Auxiliary President Raye Bolam-Tucker.
“We were pleased with the amount of people who attended to shop with our stallholders, bought raffle tickets, enjoyed Devonshire teas and just contributed to the festive atmosphere, especially when it would have been easy for them to stay home and be warm and dry,” she said.
“The Auxiliary has a dedicated membership and these ladies contributed so much time and effort to bringing the fete together.
“Thanks also to the stallholders for presenting wonderful stalls and also thanks to the many businesses and individuals who donated, as the success of the event relies heavily on your kindness.”
BCH Volunteer and Fundraising Manager Kerry Redmond thanked the Auxiliary members for persevering in the rain and continuing this much-loved tradition.
“The fete is not only a vital fundraiser for Bass Coast Health but also a highlight of the local social calendar. We were pleased to see many long-term supporters return to contribute to this year’s fete and also to their local public healthcare service,” she said.
