During Occupational Therapy Week (27 October-2 November), we want to acknowledge and celebrate the wonderful work of our Occupational Therapists at Bass Coast Health.
The aim of Occupational Therapy (OT) is to support and enable you to participate in the everyday activities that are meaningful and important to you.
This could be activities such as taking care of yourself or others, working, volunteering, and participating in hobbies, interests and social events.
It could also be helping you to have more independent access your home or the local community, regaining your hand strength and function following an injury, or improving your sensory regulation and readiness for school for children.
Occupational Therapists use their knowledge, creativity and problem-solving skills to support you to focus on your strengths and abilities to find new ways to achieve the goals you want to achieve.
“We are incredibly proud of the work we do to support the members of the local community. I am proud to lead the team of dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapists here at Bass Coast Health,” said Natalie Gourley, BCH Occupational Therapy Manager.
Bass Coast Health's Occupational Therapy services include assessment, education, advice and therapy for physical, cognitive, developmental, emotional and environmental factors across a range of ages and life stages. Our services cover paediatric, adult and older people in both the hospital setting, as well as in the community or at home.
If you have an illness, disability or injury that is impacting your ability to participate in and enjoy everyday life, the Occupational Therapists at Bass Coast Health (BCH) may be able to help you.
