Bass Coast Health (BCH) is extremely grateful to the San Remo Opportunity Shop for their tireless work which has seen another $120,000 donated to the health service.

The funds will be spent on new equipment for the expanding Women’s and Children’s service at Wonthaggi Hospital.

Op Shop President Sara Fleisner said the op shop volunteers were proud to donate such a significant sum to such a worthwhile cause.

“The volunteers of the op shop work tirelessly to raise funds for our health service and to know these funds will go towards vital equipment for this wonderful service warms our hearts,” she said.

“We thank members of the community, as well as holiday-makers, for shopping with us and in turn supporting our public health service.”

BCH CEO Jan Child was touched by not only the size of the donation but also the dedication of the many op shop volunteers.

“This amazing group of volunteers gives their time so generously, to support our health service. We are truly grateful to have our Volunteer Op Shop, and our community, supporting the growth of Bass Coast Health,” she said.

“We are able to provide so many more services and state-of-the-art equipment because our volunteers and our community care for their local health service. We are truly grateful!”

The San Remo Opportunity Shop is open Monday-Friday, 10am-2.30pm, at 65D Back Beach Road, San Remo. You’ll find clothing, treasures and more.
