Mr Jack Allport
Mr Jack Allport is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon holding dual UK and Australian specialist qualifications (FRCS Tr & Orth and FRACS), with comprehensive training across regional and tertiary centres in both countries.
Jack completed his medical degree at the University of Birmingham before undertaking orthopaedic training in the UK. He subsequently undertook two subspecialty fellowships: the first at Wrightington Hospital, UK – one of the world's leading upper limb units – where he developed expertise in primary and revision shoulder arthroplasty and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand; and the second at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, focusing on complex trauma and upper limb surgery.
At Wonthaggi Hospital, Jack provides general orthopaedic and trauma care alongside his specialist upper limb practice. He also holds an appointment as Fellow-in-Charge at The Alfred Hospital.
Jack is actively involved in surgical education and clinical research, with several peer-reviewed publications and a role as an applicant on a £1.9 million NIHR-funded national randomised controlled trial. Outside of medicine, he enjoys competing in triathlons and spending time with his family.
