Gastroenterologist

Peter completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne and undertook Basic Physician Training at Austin Health. 

He attained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians following advanced training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology across Peninsula Health and Eastern Health. He completed further subspecialty training in advanced endoscopy at Austin Health, Sunshine Coast Health and Peninsula Health, with expertise in complex gastrointestinal and pancreatobiliary disorders. 

Peter provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy services, including: 
• Bowel cancer screening and surveillance 
• Endoscopic resection (EMR) of large gastrointestinal polyps across the oesophagus, stomach, small bowel and colon
• ERCP and cholangiopancreatoscopy (SpyGlass) for biliary strictures and complex stone disease (unavailable at Bass Coast) 
• EUS-guided biopsy and drainage, pancreatic cancer staging, endohepatology and EUS-guided gallbladder drainage (unavailable at Bass Coast) 
• management of gastrointestinal obstruction, including dilatation, enteral stenting and EUS-guided gastrojejunostomy 
• endoscopic therapy for Barrett’s oesophagus (resection and RFA ablation) Balloon enteroscopy for small bowel evaluation and intervention.

Peter participates in Bayside Health upper gastrointestinal, pancreatobiliary and colorectal multidisciplinary meetings. He accepts referrals for both routine and complex gastroenterology and advanced endoscopy.
